Reciting the Qur'an with maqamat plays an important role in learning tajwid and the aesthetics of recitation. Mosque-based programs are effective but face challenges due to the varying initial abilities of participants. The service learning program at Masjid Sabilurrosyad, Tanjungpinang Timur, from May to July 2024, involved participants aged 5–15 years. Activities included lectures, demonstrations, drills, and immediate feedback. A single-group pretest–posttest evaluation measured tajwid, articulation, tempo, and rhythm. Participant retention exceeded 80%, with significant improvements in tajwid accuracy and rhythm variation. The greatest improvements occurred after the introduction of simple tonal cues before phrases, accompanied by increased focus and confidence. The combination of demonstrations, drills, and chunking of material was effective, supported by the mosque ecosystem that strengthened the sustainability of the program and is worthy of replication
